This is a nice tutorial, I learned finally what's a Vexel. :) Thanks for sharing this here.

One question though, do people mainly do vexel art by using a stock to trace over, or it can be done without a picture? :)

Well the term for tracing a sketch you created before that or just creating shapes without some kind of guidance would rather be illustrating.

Though I'm no expert when it comes to terms. I think some people call everything that looks like something similar to a vexel a vexel. I don't know xDDD
